Manchester print business makes impression with national accolade

Following a year of growth and investment, Trafford-based commercial print company, G&H has scooped a national industry award.
 
Having invested £5m in new technology earlier this year and securing a series of high-profile contracts during 2015, the long-established Manchester print company has been named as Industrial Digital Printer of the Year in the Print Week Awards.
 
The independently owned company’s state-of-the art new industrial web press – the configuration if which is the first of its kind in Europe - was a key point of differentiation that led to G&H’s latest award win. It enabled G&H to offer a unique service for bespoke print, with rare four-colour personalisation capabilities on a grand-scale.
 
A national retail group is using the technology to enable 1,400 convenience stores to tailor their own leaflets with content and special offers through an online portal, created by G&H’s own software development team. The 24/7 service delivers six million bespoke leaflets a month, in various formats.
 
Established 46 years ago, Gask & Hawley, now better known as G&H, has evolved its services to mark out its position as one of the UK’s leading suppliers of commercial print. It partners directly with major brands and organisations, as well as many of the country’s top marketing agencies. It also has international reach, with a number of recent overseas contracts.
 
One of the original founders and company Chairman of G&H, Earl Hawley, commented: “Evolution has always been at the heart of our business ethos. There is still a major role for print and we have adapted our skillset to remain at the cutting edge of the industry, with web-based interfaces that allow our customers to manage their print and distribution requirements remotely.

G&H has three premises on Trafford Park, with advanced print technology and 18,000 sq ft distribution and logistics centre. Going beyond print, G&H also has a marketing campaigns team, who specialise in the strategic planning and management of targeted household mailings using its PINPOINT system, which was also developed in-house.
